Over the past few weeks, I read several good book tags on some sites and keep thinking “I’m going to do that one day.” Well, today is the day when I do my first book tag. I’m going to start with the Reading habits book tag.

I read this tag on Dreamland Book Blog. However, Beatrice who runs Dreamland Book Blog credited TheBookJazz.

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?

Nope! You can find me reading in bed, on the sofa, in a sunny spot on the deck with my plants, wherever. sunny spot on the deck

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?

Random piece of paper. Receipt, junk mail, piece of a box,  absolutely anything that is close to hand.  I actually often find that I have multiple bookmarks in one book.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?

Yup, OCD, I am afraid I need to stop at a clear ‘stopping’ point. This often leads to me falling asleep with my Kindle resting against my face.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

Sure, sometimes. Like maybe this fried chicken today?

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?

No, monsters.

6. One book at a time or several at once?

90% of the time just one. If it’s not digital, and I can’t get it across all devices, maybe I’ll do more than one at a time. But this is an exception, not a rule.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Everywhere! On the subway, during lunch, in the park, at home, during dinner, at the bar — whenever I can get a page or two in!

8. Reading out lout or silently in your head?

Silently.

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Hangs head, in shame. Yes, sometimes I read ahead. I am especially guilty of scanning ahead for names if it looks like a character is about to die or leave the story for some other reason.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Really?! Keep it like new. Obviously.

11. Do you write in your books?

See above. Not a monster.

Well, that’s about it. How did I do for my first book tag?

Now it’s your turn – answer some of this book tags questions.

  1. Congratulations on your first book tag! 🙂 They are fun and easy posts so I try to do one each week.
This picture of food has me very very hungry now. It’s 5;30pm and I need a snack!! I used to be able to listen to music while reading but my brain must have stopped having the ability because now I find myself reading the same sentence over and over again whenever there’s a song in the background.
For a long time I used whatever was at hand as a bookmark but I was offered a beautiful origami butterfly and I just love seeing it between pages.
I can stop reading in the middle of a sentence, I got used to it because the dog often interrupts my reading 🙂 impolite baby!
I can’t read several books at a time, I don’t like dividing my love, I prefer to give all my attention to one baby at a time!
